Observations.

We were enjoying some ice cream last night and Louisa made a good point: instead of ‘we went there’ the ‘we ate there’ I should highlight our observations.  Side note: she’s more observant than me, but she declined my proposal for her to contribute to the blog. Lots of people in Buenos Aires have dogs.  I mean a lot.  And, surprisingly, not too much dog poop.  I mean, I see more in our neighborhood than here.  Again, I’m referring to about 5 mile radius of where we live, not the entire Buenos Aires, which is bigger than New York City.  You see people with all kinds of dogs.  On the leash and not.  Some dog walkers have more than dozen dogs. People’s connection to each other is something to talk about.  You see the couples or friends in cafes and restaurants and there is this deeper connection between them.  They talk, they’re interested in each other, they talk.  That’s why they can seat in cafes and talk for hours.  This couple and their dog (under the table): IMG_1674 set there for a long time (we saw them when we walked by, then we set down, had drinks, then saw them later again).  They just talked.  And that’s kinda how folks are here.  Are the more connected than us?  Side note: almost all the cafes and restaurants have Wi-Fi here – makes it incredibly easy for someone like me to disconnect from what’s more important and connect to network 🙂

All kinds of cars here.  French cars are really popular.  Renault, Citroen, Peugeot are all over.  Fiats are really popular too.  There is a russian Lada (model Niva) parked outside of our apartment.  This was a cool Mercedes: IMG_1686We had a similar (read: stolen copy) in Soviet called Volga GAZ 21.  I believe that it had 3 speeds.
