Buenos Aires.
Louisa and I have this weird feeling: Buenos Aires is reminding us the Yerevan, Armenia, USSR we grew up in more than the Yerevan that we visited about 2 years ago. Not sure what exactly: architecture, cars (did I mention how popular The Beatles are here??? It’s like 1966 US – they’re everywhere)
(they have all kinds here; it’s interesting, like we came to 1980’s, but with wireless internet access virtually in every cafe and restaurant; seeing Maxell and TDK cassettes for sale for $12 Argentinian pesos /officially: ~$2.5USD, unofficially: $1.5 – I’ll explain this one in another post/ hit this point home completely) or cafes or the uneven “raw” streets, or the transportation, or whatever the hell that it, but it’s like freaking lovely 80’s Yerevan.
Did I mention that they have shit of load dogs here? We didn’t have that.
Stella Artois is the most popular foreign beer. It’s everywhere. It’s in every size possible. My personal favorite (that I’m enjoying as I type this).
I do have a big head.
Buenos Aires-ians smoke a lot, that can be a reminder too. They sit and talk – that’s for sure.
Lots of Pharmacias. Every corner.
Side note: just saw this photo: http://imgur.com/7rlyoJD love it and breaks my heart. Hoping that when I have our non profit going, I can reach out to that family. Therefore, this link, so I can remember and remind myself.
Came across the Argentinian food pyramid. No exaggeration there:
http://www.
But, the Argentina is the country of tango:
On Sunday we went to San Telmo. A great outdoor place which I’ll write about next Sunday (we’re planning to go again next Saturday), but this video isn’t too far fetched from reality:
We saw an older couple dancing tango. Here are a few videos we took from that night.
So Louisa will be a tango pro (with her husband) upon our return.
I’ll post this, before I loose. I’m sure I forgot several things that I intended to publish. Louisa will add a few of her own too.
PS We miss Georgia a lot . Andrei misses home and Kobe a lot. We love our home in our lovely Ellard.
