A little about cars.
There is a big variety of cars here. They park pretty tightly next to each other. More than dozen times we’ve seen a car gently hitting car behind and in front to get in/out in the parking spot. Surprisingly, there are Niva cars. Niva is a Lada car which is the Kafka’s imagination of a Jeep raping a Fiat and then aborting their kid. They were popular back in Soviet days. Here are a couple. The white one is parked outside of our apartment since we’ve came here and hasn’t ever moved. I saw several others, but managed to snap photos of this “souped-up” one.
Also, people look after their cars. This man was hand-washing (caressing) his car for a while. This car wouldn’t get accepted as a donation to WABE (NPR) station, but he was gently washing it. Reminded me a lot the old country where the car was more than just a means to get from point A to point B.
Oh yeah, I have a picture of another Niva:
then again, who cares about Nivas that much anyway.
There is this car that’s parked a block away from our apartment. It is mobile since it’s there sometimes and sometimes not. I don’t know how does that engine/body work…
OK, that’s it for now. I’m off to a new topic.
