Second Day in Buenos Aires
Second day in Buenos Aires.
May 31st. 4:00am. (http://www.ted.com/talks/rives_on_4_a_m.html)
Good to know that old habits don’t die below the equator line. Sleeping less than 4 hours is the same in Argentina as in US. Oh yeah, and the Stella tastes just as good
Ended up going to an armenian restaurant Viejo Agump on the street called Armenia. Even the garbage cans had the name ‘Armenia’ on them – go figure. Food wasn’t overly unique or that different from other armenian restaurants in US. Then walked all around the city. Well, mainly around the Armenia street with some surrounding cobblestone streets. Lots of cool stores (boutiques?). Anna’s Shoes place was selling tango shoes – almost bought a pair. Just like with photography – buying better lens and camera makes me a better photographer. Weather has been gorgeous: sunny and windy. The sound of the city is really cool – reminds me of my childhood. Grew up in the downtown Yerevan, with every public transportation imaginable passing by. The nights in Alpharetta, GA or Ridgefield, CT are really quiet. Here, on the balcony, that’s about 35 feet long, overlooking the botanical garden, the noises bring back the senses of my childhood. Will take a photo from the balcony in the morning. Later in the morning that is.
Steve, Rob and Don, thanks for the comments. I was a blog-virgin until yesterday. By the end of the trip hoping to become a blog-whore.
Donny, who knew that one can distill a bourbon from fish? Moreover, who knew that a good old southern boy, like you, will enjoy the taste of it?
Rob, glad to hear that no problem or circumstances will ever affect your and my game – sucking consistently good is a unique talent 🙂
Steve, missing me less is kinda congruent to me saying ‘I sucked good-er today’ after a tennis match.
PS Who would have guessed that my modest nom de plume ‘Elegant Donkey’ (proudly stolen from Louisa) will get more interest than the content of my blogabsurdity?
PPS Have been dicking around with the WordPress to get it right, but no luck. Have made more Publish and Update clicks than I care to admit. Still managed to lose the comments. Hoping that Louisa will be able to correct it. In the morning. Later in the morning.
I wonder if Gogol’s muse to write the ‘Diary of a Madman’ came from writing a blog in Buenos Aires. (http://www.britannica.com/EBchecked/topic/161699/Diary-of-a-Madman)
