The Good Book.

First, I had to admit to myself that I never read The Bible from end to end.  Then I admitted to some of my friends that I, actually, never read it.  I was expecting to be made fun of or “reprimanded”, but to my surprise, majority didn’t either.  I thought I was the only one.  Not even close.  A close friend of mine read the good book seven times in the row.  From the beginning to end.  As soon as he finished – again.  Then – again.  Again.  Again.  Again.  (I think, this is seven, right?)  We had many conversations on the topic.  Being a voracious reader, I don’t have a reasonable excuse, other than … well, no, don’t have any.  I said something like: it’s kinda long and not an easy read.  (Not sure if it’s longer than ‘Atlas Shrugged’ and ‘Fountainhead’ or all Seth Godin’s books combined or all the internet sites that I read a day – lots of them and not just with photos.)  This, so called, friend of mine, put the last nail in my coffin of excuses.  He said: if you wrote a letter to your kids and their kids and their generations to come, would you like it if Anna or Andrei say that it’s too long and not read it?  That did it.  Made a commitment to read The Bible from Genesis 1:1 to Revelations 22:21 between now and year end.  I’m on Genesis now.

On an unrelated note: why team handball never picked up in US?  This sport is quite popular in Europe, but doesn’t have any following here.  I see cricket being played, volleyball, soccer, but I haven’t seen any handball.

Never mind, just searched and there is some handball in US.  Still, I haven’t heard any school or college plays or leagues.  OK, I’ll drop it.

Great documentary on the movie clip from above:
